Sustainability is the only way to do business for future generations. Corporate social responsibility is more than just a trend these days. At Gooiland, we’re committed every day to being better for the environment and nature. After months of sustainable efforts, we’ve been rewarded with a Green Key Gold certification. The Green Key Gold is the most important sustainability label in the recreation and leisure industry. We’re incredibly proud of this achievement!

Breakfast & Cleaning Products
 

• We use only cleaning products, dish soap, and hand soap with environmental certifications.
• Our fruit and milk are always organic.
• Each room has a glass you can refill with tap water to reduce packaging waste.
   

Waste & Recycling
 

• We minimize the use of single-use packaging.
• Any single-use packaging we do use carries a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) certification.
• We separate waste in our own kitchen.
• Some of our tableware is made from 70% sugarcane pulp and 30% FSC-certified wood pulp.
• Nespresso capsules are recycled and transformed into trendy bicycles.
   

Electricity & Water
 

• Our building features waterless urinals in all restroom groups, saving about 187 m³ of water annually per urinal.
• All taps have been replaced with water-saving versions.
• 95% of Gooiland’s heating comes from heat pumps.
• We are currently replacing as many lights as possible with LED lamps.
• All rooms have energy-efficient lighting sensors.
   

CO₂ Emissions
 

• We continuously seek partnerships aimed at making the region more sustainable.
• We consolidate orders to minimize transportation costs.
• We expect our partners to be actively engaged in sustainability efforts.
• We encourage guests to arrive by public transport.
   

Greenery & Plants
 

• In collaboration with the municipality, we’ve developed native plant landscaping in and around our building and apply ecological green management.
• Our entire location breathes green: rooms have houseplants, there are real green walls, and lifelike trees scattered throughout the venue.
