Once upon a time

In 1936, a hypermodern building was placed in the middle of the provincial town of Hilversum: Gooiland. An entertainment venue for the elite, in the middle of the green Gooi. Designed by architect Jan Duiker, representative of the Nieuwe Bouwen. It became a household name and a national monument. A place full of stories.

The room was a very good size with an amazing view and wrap around terrace. Very comfortable bed with lots of pillows. An ample supply of coffee with a proper coffee machine. Breakfast was fantastic, simple but more than enough. I ordered a fresh pancake with fruit which was lovely. The staff were simply amazing, engaging and making sure everything was as expected and more. Really everything was great.”
